Why surrogate motherhood should be allowed

At the Center for Human Reproduction of prof. Feskov A. For people who have a desire, but there is no possibility, for various reasons infertility, health problems, age, etc. It is worth noting that the packages of the Feskov Human Reproduction Group include as many IVF cycles as necessary, until a guaranteed result without any surcharges.

The surrogate mother remains in profit, because most often , in addition to compensating for expenses during the bearing of a child, after childbirth she receives a significant amount of money as a reward for her services.

State regulation of surrogacy is different, based on the country. In all Muslim countries and some European countries Austria , Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, France - such reproductive technology is prohibited. In many European countries Greece , Czech Republic , Cyprus, Belgium , there is no clearly defined legal framework on this issue, so it seems to be present, but future parents are legally unprotected.

You can finance the whole event, and as a result, to remain without a child and without money. In England , Canada , Portugal , surrogacy is legalized, but on an altruistic basis - a surrogate mother will not receive anything in excess of cost compensation.

And in Canada , Finland and the Netherlands , the law requires you to tell the truth to an adult child born as a result of ART.

But here there are pitfalls. For ConceiveAbilities, that age range is years old. Personal Decision : As modern family advocates, we believe everyone has the right to build families in the way that supports their personal choices. For some women, surrogacy is not a medical choice, but a social choice. Lack of a Uterus : The woman in a couple wishing to start a family may not have a uterus. This can be the result of a rare genetic malformation affecting as many as one in twelve thousand women, or the woman may have had her uterus removed.

This is sometimes a necessary step in treating such medical conditions as certain forms of cancer. The lack of a uterus precludes any possibility of the woman bearing a child herself. Uterine Structural Problem : Less severe than the above, a woman might have an inherent condition or uterine defect that makes conception of a child difficult — or which makes it unlikely that a child will be carried to term. Sometimes, a malformation of the uterus can have little impact on conception, but can make it impossible for the woman to actually carry her child to term properly.

In the movie Betsy Stearns had MS and was not able to have a child without a great risk to her or the unborn fetus's health therefore it was unrealistic for her to have a child, but surrogacy gave her and her husband a way. Surrogacy is a great way to help people who can't get pregnant a way to have a baby and start a family even though there might be some complications. I think it's a great idea and a great way to help people start their own families if they have a disability or some type of disorder where they cannot have children of their own.

I believe that if someone wants to have a child but they personally can't, and someone is willing to help them, that help should be available. Having a child through a surrogate mother means that not both partners wishing to have a child will be able to supply their DNA.

But at least one of the partners DNA can be a part of the child. Recently in my parenting and families class, we watched the movie Baby M.

It was a very good movie. The movie was about a couple who wanted to have a child but the wife had multiple sclerosis, and if she had a baby she would be risking her health, and the babys health.

So, they went through a surrogate mother and the father was the sperm donor. When the baby was finally born, the surrogate mother didn't want to give the baby up, leading to a huge custody battle involving the court and many long trials. And in the end the couple who initially wanted the baby, received custody. I think this is really the only issue with surrogate motherhood. The surrogate mother could grow a close connection to the child and not want to give it up, but they sign s contract so they have to give up the child.

If they know they're not gunna want to give away the child then they shouldn't have signed the contract to begin with. Surrogacy is a personal and very private choice between the surrogate mother and the prospective parents, not something that should be heavily controlled or legislated.

Like other medical procedures, surrogacy should be privately handled at a fertility clinic and those who do not agree with it do not have to participate, but government involvement by banning it is an invasion of personal and medical privacy.

I completely agree with Surrogate motherhood I think that surrogate mothers should be allowed because if somebody can't have children they should still be able to raise a family of their own. To some people, having the same DNA as your child is very important.

I believe that if someone is willing to be a surrogate mother to help somebody out, they should be able to. Also, gay people aren't able to have a baby with both of their DNA, so it would be nice to at least have one of the partners genes, and have the other legally adopt the child.

If someone doesn't think they would be able to give away the baby after giving birth to them, they shouldn't of signed the contract, although there are now laws and they would have to give up the child to the other family. Having a child for someone else is one of the greatest things a woman can do for someone.

The surrogate mother gets paid to carry the other couples child and she also feels a great sense of joy that she has bestowed upon another family.

The operation is very safe and the people the families deal with are very professional. As humans our need to reproduce is irresistible, as well as a biological need. I mean in the XXI century a lot of couples have some fertility problem. Unfortunately, that it rue. But with the help of the surrogate mothers some couples could get their miracle child! One of my friends in infertile and I saw her suffering. But at once he came to me and said that soon she will be a mother! She told me that her husband found one Ukrainian Center for Human Reproduction.

Moreover, the whole program in Kiev costs almost 30k Euros — not so expensive, I should say. The situation was a like a year ago and now she is a mommy of such a lovely girl! Of course, I think that this kid worth every minute of their expectation and their happiness costs more than 30k.

But what will be in future? If all of us will use the help of the surrogate mommies? Surrogacy is something you can never really understand or judge unless you are in that situation personally. It would be wonderful if surrogacy was never needed again because science found a solution for these women such as ectogenesis or readily available uterus transplant. Surrogacy is a wonder of 21 century.
